This artwork by Tracey Emin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2004. In the Post-War and Contemporary Day Sale auction, the work (i) Is Legal Sex Anal? (ii) Is Anal Sex Legal? sold for GBP 29,875.00 (€ 44,462.95) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tracey Emin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work My Bed in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 2,546,500.00 (€ 3,211,937.15).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Tracey Emin erzielte im Juni 2004 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Day Sale wurde die Arbeit (i) Is Legal Sex Anal? (ii) Is Anal Sex Legal? für GBP 29.875,00 (€ 44.462,95) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tracey Emin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit My Bed im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.546.500,00 (€ 3.211.937,15).
