Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Portfolio Of Fifteen Photographs 1967-1969 by Tony Ray-Jones was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,500.00 – 4,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,231.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Tony Ray-Jones have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2008 the work Ramsgate, 1967 was auctioned for GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,836.30).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.500,00 – 4.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.231,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Tony Ray-Jones konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im November 2008 die Arbeit Ramsgate, 1967 für GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.836,30) versteigert.
