Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work February Collage by Tony O'Malley for GBP 875.00 (€ 1,087.91). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century British Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tony O'Malley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Currach, Clare Island (Recto); Evening Landscape Tehidy Hospital (Recto); Figure (Verso) in March 2016 with an auction result of GBP 434,500.00 (€ 548,599.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2012 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit February Collage von Tony O'Malley für GBP 875,00 (€ 1.087,91) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tony O'Malley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Currach, Clare Island (Recto); Evening Landscape Tehidy Hospital (Recto); Figure (Verso) im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 434.500,00 (€ 548.599,17).
