This artwork by Tony Cragg achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October this year. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work First Person sold for GBP 151,200.00 (€ 173,619.61) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Tony Cragg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Constant Change in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 849,062.00 (€ 984,851.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tony Cragg erzielte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit First Person für GBP 151.200,00 (€ 173.619,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tony Cragg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Constant Change im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 849.062,00 (€ 984.851,03).
