Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Tomory Dodge could be acquired at Christies in New York in June 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Virtue auction, the work Starpool changed hands for USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,129.91) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Tomory Dodge have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cotton Mouth in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 82,718.85).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieses Kunstwerk von Tomory Dodge konnte im Juni 2020 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Virtue wechselte die Arbeit Starpool für USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.129,91) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tomory Dodge auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cotton Mouth im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 82.718,85).
