Auction result well in line with expectations

The work White roses in a lobed-footed copper-lustre maiolica Manises vase on a ledge by Tomás Hiepes was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2003. The price achieved of GBP 94,850.00 (€ 134,342.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80,000.00 – 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tomás Hiepes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Myrtle in a lobed-footed polychrome maiolica Manises vase on a draped ledge, which sold at auction in December 2003 for GBP 363,650.00 (€ 515,062.58).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit White roses in a lobed-footed copper-lustre maiolica Manises vase on a ledge von Tomás Hiepes kam im Dezember 2003 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 94.850,00 (€ 134.342,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 80.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Tomás Hiepes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Myrtle in a lobed-footed polychrome maiolica Manises vase on a draped ledge beobachtet, die im Dezember 2003 für GBP 363.650,00 (€ 515.062,58) versteigert wurde.
