Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Still Life With A Guitar by Tomás Hiepes for USD 146,500.00 (€ 106,817.35). This price was achieved in the auction Important Old Master Paintings & Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Tomás Hiepes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Myrtle in a lobed-footed polychrome maiolica Manises vase on a draped ledge in December 2003 with an auction result of GBP 363,650.00 (€ 515,062.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Still Life With A Guitar von Tomás Hiepes für USD 146.500,00 (€ 106.817,35) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings & Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tomás Hiepes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Myrtle in a lobed-footed polychrome maiolica Manises vase on a draped ledge im Dezember 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 363.650,00 (€ 515.062,58).
