Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work 138 Losenge Composition with Four Yellow Lines 1933 by Tom Sachs was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction at Phillips in New York in November last year. It achieved a price of USD 69,300.00 (€ 67,131.65), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 16%. Admittedly, works by Tom Sachs have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tiffany Value Meal in May last year with an auction result of USD 302,400.00 (€ 281,800.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit 138 Losenge Composition with Four Yellow Lines 1933 von Tom Sachs wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 69.300,00 (€ 67.131,65) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 16%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tom Sachs auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tiffany Value Meal im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 302.400,00 (€ 281.800,39).
