In February 2005 Christies in London held the auction THE SIR RALPH AND LADY HALPERN COLLECTION, which included the work Two dancers by Tom Merrifield. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,680.00 (€ 2,436.22), 68% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tom Merrifield; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Dancing Nude sold at auction in March 2003 with the realized price of GBP 2,585.00 (€ 3,744.69).

Im Februar 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion THE SIR RALPH AND LADY HALPERN COLLECTION durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two dancers von Tom Merrifield zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.680,00 (€ 2.436,22) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Tom Merrifield; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Dancing Nude im März 2003 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 2.585,00 (€ 3.744,69).
