Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Dancer In A Red Leotard And Orange Tutu; And Pink Ballerina by Tom Merrifield was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 288.00 (€ 427.69). Admittedly, works by Tom Merrifield have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dancing Nude in March 2003 with an auction result of GBP 2,585.00 (€ 3,744.69).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Dancer In A Red Leotard And Orange Tutu; And Pink Ballerina von Tom Merrifield im November 2006 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 288,00 (€ 427,69) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tom Merrifield auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dancing Nude im März 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.585,00 (€ 3.744,69).
