Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Balloonists Struggle to Escape a Doomed Gondola by Tom Lovell was sold in the The National Geographic Collection: The Art of Exploration auction at Christies in New York in December 2012. The price achieved of USD 10,625.00 (€ 8,057.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Lovell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Catchers of Wild Horses in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 312,500.00 (€ 268,309.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Balloonists Struggle to Escape a Doomed Gondola von Tom Lovell wurde im Dezember 2012 in der Auktion The National Geographic Collection: The Art of Exploration bei Christies in New York versteigert.
