In December 2004 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Workshop and Blue of Dinton by Tom Coates. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 896.25 (€ 1,268.44), 49% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tom Coates - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Street Scene, Florence, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,986.07).

Im Dezember 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Workshop and Blue of Dinton von Tom Coates zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 896,25 (€ 1.268,44) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Tom Coates mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Street Scene, Florence beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 3.360,00 (€ 4.986,07) versteigert wurde.
