Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled #2 by Todd James was sold in the Contemporary Showcase: Kawaii Pop auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in May 2021. The price achieved of HKD 21,420.00 (€ 2,264.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 15,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Todd James achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dumparoo - 2010 in May 2018 with an auction result of EUR 29,900.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled #2 von Todd James wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Showcase: Kawaii Pop bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 21.420,00 (€ 2.264,26) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 15.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Todd James erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dumparoo - 2010 im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 29.900,00.
