Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Tod Papageorge could be acquired at Phillips in New York in April 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work Father + Son, Central Park, 1980; Bench Scene ('See, Hear, Speak no Evil'), Central Park changed hands for USD 1,890.00 (€ 1,571.07) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tod Papageorge - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Girl Kicking Ball, Central Park, 1991, which sold at auction in October 2015 for USD 5,625.00 (€ 5,094.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tod Papageorge konnte im April 2021 bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Father + Son, Central Park, 1980; Bench Scene ('See, Hear, Speak no Evil'), Central Park für USD 1.890,00 (€ 1.571,07) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Tod Papageorge mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Girl Kicking Ball, Central Park, 1991 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für USD 5.625,00 (€ 5.094,19) versteigert wurde.
