Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
When the work Garden of Eden (a triptych) by Tinus van Doorn was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2006, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 900.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at EUR 5,400.00. Admittedly, works by Tinus van Doorn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dutch Portrait in June 2008 with an auction result of EUR 21,750.00.
Kunstwerk zum Sechsfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Garden of Eden (a triptych) von Tinus van Doorn im Januar 2006 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 900,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 5.400,00 mehr als sechsmal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tinus van Doorn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dutch Portrait im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 21.750,00.
