In August 2003 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Burning Rope by Tim Storrier. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 49,350.00 (€ 29,153.60), 23% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tim Storrier - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Night Winds (Capricorn), 2010, which sold at auction in June 2021 for GBP 56,500.00 (€ 65,837.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2003 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Burning Rope von Tim Storrier zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 49.350,00 (€ 29.153,60) und damit 23% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Tim Storrier mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Night Winds (Capricorn), 2010 beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für GBP 56.500,00 (€ 65.837,19) versteigert wurde.
