Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work a Distance Away - Towards Days End by Tim Storrier was auctioned at Bonhams in August this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 861.00 (€ 513.79). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tim Storrier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Night Winds (Capricorn), 2010 in June 2021 with an auction result of GBP 56,500.00 (€ 65,837.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit a Distance Away - Towards Days End von Tim Storrier im August diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 861,00 (€ 513,79) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tim Storrier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Night Winds (Capricorn), 2010 im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 56.500,00 (€ 65.837,19).
