Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Discovery and Resolution in company at sea by Tim Thompson was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2005. The price achieved of GBP 960.00 (€ 1,417.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Tim Thompson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work J-class yachts racing in light airs off the Brenton lightship in February 2004 with an auction result of USD 7,767.50 (€ 6,243.47).
