In February 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work J-class yachts racing in light airs off the Brenton lightship by Tim Thompson for USD 7,767.50 (€ 6,243.47). This price was achieved in the auction Maritime at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house.
