Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2021 Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Colonial Barracks or State, 1987 by Tim Storrier. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 11,070.00 (€ 9,202.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Tim Storrier have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Night Winds (Capricorn), 2010 in June 2021 with an auction result of GBP 56,500.00 (€ 65,837.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2021 führte Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Colonial Barracks or State, 1987 von Tim Storrier zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 11.070,00 (€ 9.202,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tim Storrier auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Night Winds (Capricorn), 2010 im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 56.500,00 (€ 65.837,19).
