Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Australia by Tim Storrier was sold in the Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 7,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 7,800.00 (€ 4,664.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tim Storrier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Night Winds (Capricorn), 2010 in June 2021 with an auction result of GBP 56,500.00 (€ 65,837.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Australian Australia von Tim Storrier wurde im August 2007 in der Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 7.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 7.800,00 (€ 4.664,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tim Storrier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Night Winds (Capricorn), 2010 im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 56.500,00 (€ 65.837,19).
