Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Scenery from Naples with a view towards Vesuv by Thorvald Niss was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in January 2024, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of DKK 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 1,800.00 (€ 1,573.15). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thorvald Niss - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Seascape with fishing boats in the evening sun, which sold at auction in January 2024 for DKK 6,500.00 (€ 5,680.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Scenery from Naples with a view towards Vesuv von Thorvald Niss im Januar 2024 bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von DKK 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 1.800,00 (€ 1.573,15) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Thorvald Niss mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Seascape with fishing boats in the evening sun beobachtet, die im Januar 2024 für DKK 6.500,00 (€ 5.680,83) versteigert wurde.
