Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Summer Suit by Thornton Willis was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in London in July 2021. The price achieved of GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,388.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thornton Willis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Full House, which sold at auction in July 2014 for USD 27,500.00 (€ 20,537.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Summer Suit von Thornton Willis wurde im Juli 2021 in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.300,00 (€ 7.388,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Thornton Willis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Full House beobachtet, die im Juli 2014 für USD 27.500,00 (€ 20.537,71) versteigert wurde.
