Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Green driver by Thornton Willis for EUR 625.00. This price was achieved in the auction Collection Jean-Paul Jungo at Christies in Paris and was even below the estimate range of EUR 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thornton Willis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Full House in July 2014 with an auction result of USD 27,500.00 (€ 20,537.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Green driver von Thornton Willis für EUR 625,00 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Collection Jean-Paul Jungo bei Christies in Paris erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thornton Willis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Full House im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 20.537,71).
