Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work (I) Schlafzimmerbild No. 5 (Bedroom Picture No. 5)(Ii) Schlafzimmerbild No. 6 (Bedroom Picture No. 6) by Thomas Zipp was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 750.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Zipp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work „Medicine # 1“. in November 2019 with an auction result of EUR 81,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit (I) Schlafzimmerbild No. 5 (Bedroom Picture No. 5)(Ii) Schlafzimmerbild No. 6 (Bedroom Picture No. 6) von Thomas Zipp im November 2020 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 750,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Zipp erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit „Medicine # 1“. im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 81.250,00.
