In December 2016 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art, which included the work The Canterbury Pilgrims by Thomas Stothard. The result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,691.62) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Other works by Thomas Stothard have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in February 2003 the work Sylvia and the Outlaws: a Scene from Shakespeare's 'Two Gentlemen of Verona' was auctioned for GBP 10,755.00 (€ 15,701.96).
