Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Illustrations to a Novel by Thomas Stothard for GBP 3,824.00 (€ 5,691.26). This price was achieved in the auction British Pictures (1500-1850) at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Stothard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sylvia and the Outlaws: a Scene from Shakespeare's 'Two Gentlemen of Verona', which sold at auction in February 2003 for GBP 10,755.00 (€ 15,701.96).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Illustrations to a Novel von Thomas Stothard für GBP 3.824,00 (€ 5.691,26) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British Pictures (1500-1850) bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Stothard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sylvia and the Outlaws: a Scene from Shakespeare's 'Two Gentlemen of Verona' beobachtet, die im Februar 2003 für GBP 10.755,00 (€ 15.701,96) versteigert wurde.
