In October last year Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work Hauling in the nets on Teignmouth beach, Devon, with Ness Point beyond by Thomas Luny. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,462.50 (€ 5,198.76), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Luny achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Battle Of Copenhagen, 2Nd April 1801 in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 108,100.00 (€ 130,083.88).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hauling in the nets on Teignmouth beach, Devon, with Ness Point beyond von Thomas Luny zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.462,50 (€ 5.198,76) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Luny erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Battle Of Copenhagen, 2Nd April 1801 im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 108.100,00 (€ 130.083,88).
