Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work Figures on the shore, Teignmouth, Devon by Thomas Luny. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,267.79) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Luny achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Battle Of Copenhagen, 2Nd April 1801 in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 108,100.00 (€ 130,083.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figures on the shore, Teignmouth, Devon von Thomas Luny zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.805,00 (€ 3.267,79) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Luny erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Battle Of Copenhagen, 2Nd April 1801 im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 108.100,00 (€ 130.083,88).
