Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

It achieved a price of GBP 12,112.50 (€ 14,443.73), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 21%. Admittedly, works by Thomas Luny have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Battle Of Copenhagen, 2Nd April 1801 in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 108,100.00 (€ 130,083.88).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit An English frigate and two Dutch barges caught in heavy seas off the coast von Thomas Luny kam im April letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 12.112,50 (€ 14.443,73) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 21%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Luny auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Battle Of Copenhagen, 2Nd April 1801 im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 108.100,00 (€ 130.083,88).
