The »bidding war« ended at USD 107,100.00 (€ 99,804.31), 34% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Houseago - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Quake mask, which sold at auction in June 2019 for EUR 225,000.00.

Die Arbeit Bronze Wall Mask I von Thomas Houseago wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 107.100,00 (€ 99.804,31) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Houseago mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Quake mask beobachtet, die im Juni 2019 für EUR 225.000,00 versteigert wurde.
