Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Collection of the Late John Appleby: A Channel Island Treasure House auction, the work Madame Tussaud's exhibition, Baker Street, London changed hands for GBP 625.00 (€ 746.87) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A crowded exchange; and Guildhall - Installation of the Lord Mayor (both illustrated), which sold at auction in December 2004 for GBP 1,673.00 (€ 2,367.76).
