Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction MARITIME PICTURES AND WATERCOLOURS, which included the work The Lord Mayor'S Banqueting House, Stratford Place, Oxford Street, London by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd. The price achieved of GBP 108.00 (€ 160.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40.00 – 200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A crowded exchange; and Guildhall - Installation of the Lord Mayor (both illustrated) in December 2004 with an auction result of GBP 1,673.00 (€ 2,367.76).

Im Juni 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion MARITIME PICTURES AND WATERCOLOURS durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Lord Mayor'S Banqueting House, Stratford Place, Oxford Street, London von Thomas Hosmer Shepherd zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 108,00 (€ 160,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40,00 – 200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Hosmer Shepherd erzielen.
