The work A Stream and Waterfall in the Woods by Thomas Hill was sold in the California Art auction at Bonhams in April this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 7,012.50 (€ 6,351.90), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Hill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hudson River Valley from the Catskill Mountain House in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 372,500.00 (€ 328,976.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit A Stream and Waterfall in the Woods von Thomas Hill wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion California Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 7.012,50 (€ 6.351,90) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Hill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hudson River Valley from the Catskill Mountain House im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 372.500,00 (€ 328.976,42).
