Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Group portrait of three gentlemen, three-quarter-length, seated in black costumes with lace collars and cuffs by Thomas de Keijzer was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2002. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 150,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 171,650.00 (€ 263,491.34). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas de Keijzer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of a silversmith, thought to be Christian van Vianen, seated full-length, in brown costume and a black hat, holding a drawing and a salt-cellar, at a carpeted table, which sold at auction in June 2002 for GBP 644,650.00 (€ 997,127.56).
