In January 2003 Christies in London held the auction THE COLLECTION OF MONSIEUR AND MADAME GERALD BAUER, which included the work Lymington: unloading a timber ship by Thomas Hearne. Other works by Thomas Hearne have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 12,925.00 (€ 21,669.06) in May 2001 for the work Elegant figures rowing on the the River Wear before Lumley Castle.
