Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Kenilworth Castle, Warwickshire by Thomas Hearne was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,461.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Hearne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Elegant figures rowing on the the River Wear before Lumley Castle in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 12,925.00 (€ 21,669.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Kenilworth Castle, Warwickshire von Thomas Hearne kam im Dezember 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.461,45) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Hearne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Elegant figures rowing on the the River Wear before Lumley Castle im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.925,00 (€ 21.669,06).
