Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 6,144.00 (€ 5,369.69). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Hart Benton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nashaquitsa in November last year with an auction result of USD 5,580,000.00 (€ 5,405,405.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Waiting for the Revolution von Thomas Hart Benton kam im Januar 2024 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 6.144,00 (€ 5.369,69) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Hart Benton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nashaquitsa im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.580.000,00 (€ 5.405.405,41).
