In July 2002 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Scene Along the Hudson by Thomas Doughty. The »bidding war« ended at USD 7,170.00 (€ 7,319.31), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Doughty achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Autumn Landscape in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 292,000.00 (€ 325,965.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2002 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scene Along the Hudson von Thomas Doughty zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 7.170,00 (€ 7.319,31) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Doughty erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Autumn Landscape im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 292.000,00 (€ 325.965,62).
