Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Christies in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included the work Landscape by Thomas Doughty. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,711.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Doughty achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Autumn Landscape in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 292,000.00 (€ 325,965.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape von Thomas Doughty zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.711,23) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Doughty erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Autumn Landscape im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 292.000,00 (€ 325.965,62).
