Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thomas Doughty could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings auction, the work Morning Among The Hills changed hands for USD 28,000.00 (€ 17,715.91) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Doughty achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Autumn Landscape in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 292,000.00 (€ 325,965.62).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Thomas Doughty konnte im März 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Morning Among The Hills für USD 28.000,00 (€ 17.715,91) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Doughty erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Autumn Landscape im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 292.000,00 (€ 325.965,62).
