Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction The American Scene including Important Photographs from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation, which included the work Landscape with Pine Trees and House by Thomas Doughty. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,772.00 (€ 2,583.17) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Doughty achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Autumn Landscape in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 292,000.00 (€ 325,965.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The American Scene including Important Photographs from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape with Pine Trees and House von Thomas Doughty zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 2.772,00 (€ 2.583,17) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Doughty erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Autumn Landscape im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 292.000,00 (€ 325.965,62).
