Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2001 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Pictures, which included the work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Half-Length, In A Black Costume, A Pair Of Gloves In His Hand by Thomas de Keijzer. The price achieved of GBP 8,812.50 (€ 14,350.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas de Keijzer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a silversmith, thought to be Christian van Vianen, seated full-length, in brown costume and a black hat, holding a drawing and a salt-cellar, at a carpeted table in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 644,650.00 (€ 997,127.56).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a silversmith, thought to be Christian van Vianen, seated full-length, in brown costume and a black hat, holding a drawing and a salt-cellar, at a carpeted table im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 644.650,00 (€ 997.127,56).
