Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Surveyors stories by Thomas Churchyard was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2001. The price achieved of GBP 528.75 (€ 863.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Churchyard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Isle of Wight, which sold at auction in December 2001 for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,919.79).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 528,75 (€ 863,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Churchyard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Isle of Wight beobachtet, die im Dezember 2001 für GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.919,79) versteigert wurde.
