Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 501.90 (€ 710.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Churchyard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Isle of Wight, which sold at auction in December 2001 for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,919.79).
