Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Figures on a track before an Italian Lake by Thomas Charles Leeson Rowbotham was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 688.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Charles Leeson Rowbotham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Veduta di Benares, 1872 in November 2002 with an auction result of EUR 17,360.00.

Die Arbeit Figures on a track before an Italian Lake von Thomas Charles Leeson Rowbotham kam im September 2000 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 411,25 (€ 688,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Charles Leeson Rowbotham erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Veduta di Benares, 1872 im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 17.360,00.
