Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Battle Of The Nile, 1 August 1798 by Thomas Buttersworth was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2021. It achieved a price of GBP 17,640.00 (€ 20,291.13), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. Admittedly, works by Thomas Buttersworth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Captain Lord Cochrane'S Frigate Pallas Leaving The Tagus Under Full Sail, The City of Lisbon Beyond And The Belem Tower Receding Astern in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 102,000.00 (€ 147,592.30).

Die Arbeit The Battle Of The Nile, 1 August 1798 von Thomas Buttersworth kam im April 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 17.640,00 (€ 20.291,13) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 18%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Buttersworth auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Captain Lord Cochrane'S Frigate Pallas Leaving The Tagus Under Full Sail, The City of Lisbon Beyond And The Belem Tower Receding Astern im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 102.000,00 (€ 147.592,30).
