Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work A Dutch fishing boat off a rocky shore and seemingly unaware of the furious action between a Royal Navy cutter, probably on anti-smuggling duty, and an armed lugger off her starboard beam by Thomas Buttersworth. The price achieved of GBP 1,530.00 (€ 1,824.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Buttersworth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Captain Lord Cochrane'S Frigate Pallas Leaving The Tagus Under Full Sail, The City of Lisbon Beyond And The Belem Tower Receding Astern in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 102,000.00 (€ 147,592.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Dutch fishing boat off a rocky shore and seemingly unaware of the furious action between a Royal Navy cutter, probably on anti-smuggling duty, and an armed lugger off her starboard beam von Thomas Buttersworth zur Versteigerung kam.
