Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS, INCLUDING SCOTTISH PICTURES, which included the work Figures and cattle resting before a river estuary at sunset by Thomas Barker. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,407.50 (€ 5,498.34). Admittedly, works by Thomas Barker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Roman Capriccio With Figures, The Colosseum Beyond in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 23,300.00 (€ 29,704.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS, INCLUDING SCOTTISH PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figures and cattle resting before a river estuary at sunset von Thomas Barker zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.407,50 (€ 5.498,34) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Barker auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Roman Capriccio With Figures, The Colosseum Beyond im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.300,00 (€ 29.704,21).
