Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings Part II, which included the work Travelers on a path with cattle watering at a pool in a wooded landscape by Thomas Barker. The price achieved of USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,980.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Barker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Roman Capriccio With Figures, The Colosseum Beyond, which sold at auction in April 2008 for GBP 23,300.00 (€ 29,704.21).
